Prabowo to Brief TNI Unit Commanders at Unhan Sentul

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto is said to be delivering a briefing at the 2026 TNI Unit Commanders’ Assembly event.

Based on a video distributed by the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday (30/4/2026), the assembly is taking place at the National Defence University (Unhan), Sentul, West Java, today.

The video shows preparations made by Unhan to welcome Prabowo’s presence.

Several officers have arrived at Unhan and the event room.

The video then displays the Unhan building and rooms before entering the main room.

TNI unit commanders walking in the room are greeted by a row of paintings of previous presidents displayed in the lobby area.

The spotlighted painting frames include those of the 1st President Soekarno, 2nd President Soeharto, 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), and the current President Prabowo Subianto.

In February 2026, Interior Minister Tito Karnavian revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had asked TNI and Police to strengthen their defence posture and maintain public trust to become the people’s army and police.

“The main point is for each to strengthen the defence posture and there is also something very important mentioned earlier that the strength of this nation lies in the trust of the people to the state,” Tito said after a coordination meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

“So TNI and Police must become… TNI must become the people’s army, police must become the people’s police,” he said.
