President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his gratitude to university scientists for their continuous research, which enabled the mandatory B50 biodiesel programme to be realised. Prabowo announced that he will award state honours to those who contributed to this achievement.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during the launch of B50 at the Km 57 Rest Area in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday. He urged all parties not to stop innovating.

“Thank you to the scientists from universities, continue your research. Thank you to Pertamina and all your ranks,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia is the first country to implement a 50 percent biodiesel blend into diesel fuel. He described this not merely as a technological achievement, but as proof that Indonesia can utilise its own natural wealth.

He then requested Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, the President Director of Pertamina, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani to compile a list of names of those who contributed to the B50 process.

“I want to give them a state honour, a star award. Those who receive stars usually already have high rank, but this is not about rank, it is about work, merit, and results for the nation and state. B50 is a great result for the nation, state, and the people,” he added.
