Prabowo to Attend Ryamizard Ryacudu's Funeral at Ministry of Defence

President Prabowo Subianto is expected to pay respects to former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Central Jakarta prior to serving as the parade inspector for the Pancasila Birth Anniversary ceremony on Monday, June 1.

The presence of Prabowo at the funeral and memorial service for Ryamizard was confirmed by State Secretariat Minister Prasetyo Hadi. “Insha’Allah, that is the plan,” Prasetyo stated via text message on Monday, June 1.

The Presidential Secretariat team has also confirmed Prabowo’s attendance and is on standby at the Ministry of Defence.

According to CNNIndonesia.com, Ryamizard’s remains were transported by a military funeral vehicle from TNI Headquarters and arrived at the Ministry of Defence at 7:35 AM, accompanied by family members.

The body will be buried with full military honours at Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery following the memorial service at the Ministry of Defence.

Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of Information at the Ministry of Defence Secretariat, stated the military funeral ceremony will take place at 11:00 WIB. “He will be buried with military honours at Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery as a national tribute to a soldier and statesman who dedicated his life to Indonesia,” he said in a written statement on Sunday, May 31.

He added that Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin will personally lead the funeral ceremony.
