Prabowo to Attend May Day Commemoration on 1 May at Monas

Jakarta, VIVA – Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), M Qodari, stated that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, is scheduled to attend the commemoration of National Labour Day at Monas on 1 May 2026.

“As a form of this commitment, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the peak commemoration of National Labour Day 2026, which will be held at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta,” Qodari said during a press conference at the Bakom RI Office on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.

Qodari explained that the government’s position is always to stand together with the workers, not against them.

The government, he said, understands that many people are faced with various concerns. From the threat of layoffs (PHK), pressure from living costs to economic uncertainty.

“The government notes and understands this anxiety. The state is present as a protector of workers as well as a guardian of job sustainability,” he said.
