Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to meet United States President Donald Trump today. The two leaders will sign a trade tariff agreement between Indonesia and the US.

In addition, President Prabowo is also set to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP).

“He will attend the invitation regarding the BoP meeting, and then, as part of coordination between the two countries, one of the additional agenda items is, God willing, the signing of a trade tariff agreement with the United States government,” said Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to reporters at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, 19 February 2026.

Prasetyo explained that the signing of the Indonesia-US trade tariff agreement would take place after Prabowo attends the Board of Peace meeting.

“The plan, if it follows the schedule, is on the 19th of February. Yes, after the BoP, there will then be a plan to sign the trade tariff cooperation agreement,” he said.

So far, Prasetyo explained there have been no changes to the contents of the Indonesia-US trade tariff agreement.

“For now, not yet. For the time being there have been no changes, but of course let us all hope that perhaps during the meeting between President Prabowo and President Trump there may be changes that would benefit our nation and country,” Prasetyo said.

It was previously reported that President Prabowo Subianto would attend the first high-level conference of the Board of Peace at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington DC on Thursday, 19 February 2026.

Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela, said President Prabowo had previously received an official invitation to attend the inaugural BoP meeting in Washington DC scheduled for 19 February 2026.

“President Prabowo Subianto plans to attend,” Nabyl said on Thursday, 12 February 2026.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, President Prabowo’s attendance reaffirms Indonesia’s commitment to playing an active role in shaping the direction and work of the Board of Peace from the outset.

He emphasised that during the meeting, President Prabowo would continue to champion Palestinian interests, particularly regarding the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the struggle of the Palestinian people, in accordance with the wishes of the Indonesian public.
