Prabowo to Attend Eid al-Adha Prayer at Indonesian Embassy Residence in Paris
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the 1447 AH Eid al-Adha prayer at the Indonesian Embassy Residence in Paris, France. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo will attend the Eid al-Adha prayer and meet with Indonesian citizens in Paris before commencing his official state visit. “President Prabowo is scheduled to attend the Eid al-Adha prayer and meet with Indonesian nationals at the Embassy Residence in Paris,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said in a statement on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. President Prabowo arrived at Orly Airport in Paris, France, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, at approximately 10:00 local time after a 16-hour flight. The arrival in France marks the start of President Prabowo’s official state visit. “This arrival marks the commencement of President Prabowo’s state visit to France, which was scheduled last year and has undergone several reschedulings,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said. At the aircraft steps, President Prabowo was greeted by France’s Minister of Labour and Solidarity, Jean-Pierre Farandou, and a ceremonial guard of honour. Additionally, hundreds of Indonesian citizens enthusiastically welcomed President Prabowo at his hotel, having gathered since early morning. President Prabowo’s official state visit is expected to further strengthen strategic ties between Indonesia and France. The Cabinet Secretary noted that both countries currently have several strategic partnerships across various sectors. “Indonesia currently has numerous super-strategic partnerships with France, and this state visit aims to further bolster Indonesia’s position in Europe, particularly in France,” he said. Additionally, according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, Indonesia-France bilateral relations are seen as complementary in global affairs. “Indonesia serves as a key gateway between Europe and Asia, while France is a crucial bridge for Asia—particularly Southeast Asia—to Europe,” he explained.
