Prabowo to Attend DPR Plenary Session, Dasco Says: It’s Fine.
Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said President Prabowo Subianto will become the first President of the Republic of Indonesia to deliver the macroeconomic framework and the policy guidelines for fiscal policy, or KEM-PPKF, in a plenary session of the DPR. He noted that in previous years, the government had already presented the KEM-PPKF and the State Budget (RAPBN) via the relevant ministers.
‘Direct delivery by the President? That’s fine. It is simply an introduction for the preparation of the APBN 2027,’ said the Gerindra Party’s Acting Chairman.
According to a note from the Secretariat General on Proceedings seen by Tempo, the DPR is scheduled to hold Plenary Session of the Fifth Session on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, the following day. The note (Warkat) number B/5926/AG.01.01/5/2026 lists three activities. First, the delivery of the KEM-PPKF and RAPBN for the 2027 Fiscal Year by the Government. Second, the Legislative Body’s report on the Evaluation of the Second Amendment to the Prolegnas Priority Bills for 2026, followed by a decision. Third, delivering the factions’ opinions on the Bill proposed as an initiative by Commission III on the amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to become a DPR-initiated law.
Previously, Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa did not deny that the plenary would be attended directly by President Prabowo Subianto. ‘That’s the plan,’ he said at the DPR Complex on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. He added that the agenda of delivering the KEM-PPKF and the RAPBN 2027 by Prabowo would be the first time a president speaks directly before the DPR. ‘Yes, as far as I know,’ said the NasDem politician.
