Prabowo to Appoint Sudaryono as New Head of National Nutrition Agency

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to appoint Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The inauguration is planned for Wednesday, 22 July 2026, in the afternoon. “It is planned that the inauguration will be held this afternoon at around 15.00 WIB,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to reporters at the Presidential Palace complex in Central Jakarta. Sudaryono will replace Nanik S. Deyang, who stepped down to undergo medical treatment for a heart condition abroad. Prasetyo Hadi noted that finding a replacement was not an easy task, and the President ultimately decided on Sudaryono, who currently serves as Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Previously, Nanik S. Deyang had formally taken leave of President Prabowo Subianto. Her resignation was confirmed by the President’s Special Assistant for Communication and Policy Analysis, Dirgayuza Setiawan. Nanik stated that she made the difficult decision to resign in order to seek a second opinion and treatment overseas for her heart. She apologised to the President for having to leave her post, adding that while the President approved her resignation out of concern for her health, he requested that she remain involved in supervising the BGN.
