Prabowo to Announce 2026 Hajj Flight Costs Impacted by Rising Global Aviation Fuel This Afternoon

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf (Gus Irfan) stated that President Prabowo Subianto will announce the Hajj flight costs affected by the global aviation fuel price increase this afternoon. He mentioned that the government has carefully considered the matter.

Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Abdul Wachid, initially questioned the Ministry of Religious Affairs during a working meeting at the DPR regarding the decision on Hajj travel costs in response to aviation fuel prices. He requested detailed information on the matter.

“If we are to draw a conclusion, has the Minister or the Deputy Minister decided on the additional aviation fuel costs? I see the developments today, yesterday it was USD 116. Now it has dropped with information about peace, right? Now it’s down to USD 96,” said Abdul Wachid during the meeting at the DPR on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

He noted that the conflict between the US-Israel and Iran has impacted countries worldwide. The Gerindra legislator questioned again whether a conclusion has been reached regarding the aviation fuel prices.

“This is because of these two people, it’s making us a bit dizzy, to be honest ha-ha-ha. Oh, this is because of Gus Trump ha-ha-ha-ha. How about it, Mr Minister? If later I continue and you haven’t decided on the price, we can’t give a conclusion,” he said.

Hajj Minister Gus Irfan stated that the government has coordinated to address the global aviation fuel prices. He mentioned that this afternoon President Prabowo will announce it to the public.

“As I mentioned yesterday, the team under the coordination of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy has conducted various calculations, and Insyaallah, it will be announced directly by the President this afternoon,” he said.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Indonesia Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said that the Hajj cost value has already been decided. However, he stated that it will be announced directly by President Prabowo.

“Regarding the value, it has been determined, but it will probably be conveyed directly by the President; we have the value, we have calculated it, and we will convey it to the President,” said Dahnil.

“But indeed, the team from the Coordinating Ministry conveyed that it will be directly announced by the President; we do not want to preempt the President in this matter,” he added.
