Prabowo to Administer Oath for Anwar Usman's Replacement and Ombudsman Members This Week
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to administer the oath for the replacement Constitutional Court justice and the Indonesian Ombudsman members this week. “(The oath-taking) is planned as soon as possible this week,” said State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). Nevertheless, he has not yet announced the name of the prospective justice. “We have received it (the nomination). It will be announced later,” he added. “There is a plan to do it together. Yes (this week),” Prasetyo explained. Previously reported, Anwar Usman’s position as Constitutional Court Justice officially ended on Monday (6/4/2026). Currently, the seat left by Anwar remains vacant because President Prabowo has not yet appointed a new Constitutional Court justice. The names of the prospective replacement justices for Anwar were announced by the Supreme Court on 9 March 2026. “Based on the final assessment results, the selection committee has determined the three best participants, arranged in alphabetical order as follows: Fahmiron, Liliek Prisbawono Adi, Marsudin Nainggolan,” stated the Supreme Court as quoted from their official website on Tuesday (7/4/2026). That decision was taken collectively by all eight factions in Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
