Prabowo to Address Citizens on Geopolitical Conditions
President Prabowo Subianto will address the entire Indonesian public in the near future to explain the current volatile geopolitical situation. The announcement came as Prabowo inaugurated 218 bridges across Indonesia, including in remote areas, during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. Prabowo urged citizens to prepare for difficulties resulting from escalating conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
“Because of the war in the Middle East, we must be ready to face difficulties. But once again, we are grateful that Indonesia as a nation has strength. We have great strength,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo stated he would be honest with the public and explain the actual conditions facing the nation. “But I must also be honest with all citizens and I will provide a briefing to the entire Indonesian nation in the near future,” he said.
The President stressed the importance of better managing national wealth and strength, emphasising that state resources must be utilised for the prosperity of the people. “For this reason, I want to reiterate again that we must fight corruption at every level. Corruption, abuse of authority, fraud, collusion with unscrupulous businesspeople—these are what cause state resources to leak away,” he stated.
Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia remains on the correct path by maintaining its free, active, and non-aligned foreign policy principles, which he said align with the spirit of diversity that underpins Indonesian national life.
“Our nation, our country, is on the right path. We remain non-aligned. We have always followed the path of free and active foreign policy, non-bloc. We do not wish to align with any bloc. We respect all powers, we respect all nations. That is Indonesia,” he said.
“Unity in diversity within our borders, but also internationally we respect all peoples, respect all religions, respect all races, respect all ethnic groups. This is what allows Indonesia to enjoy peaceful conditions today. We can live side by side with hundreds of ethnic groups and remain in harmony,” he continued.
