Prabowo to Add 13 Priority Projects, Valued at Rp239 Trillion
President Prabowo Subianto has issued special directives regarding the acceleration of downstream processing and the management of natural resources (SDA) in Indonesia. Subsequently, there will be an addition of 13 downstream projects with a total investment of up to Rp239 trillion.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, reported on the progress of downstream processing to the President during a Limited Meeting in Hambalang, Bogor, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
He stated that President Prabowo requested a report on the development of the downstream processing programme in the country.
During the meeting, Bahlil revealed the addition of these 13 new downstream projects, which are currently in the finalisation stage. These projects are additions beyond the previously running downstream processing programmes.
“We are adding another 13 downstream items with a total investment of approximately Rp239 trillion, and we will discuss the finalisation,” Bahlil said after the meeting in Hambalang.
Meanwhile, in the initial stage of downstream processing, there are 20 projects, some of which have entered the groundbreaking phase, and the rest are scheduled to begin construction in the near future.
“The first stage of 20 items, some have already been groundbreaking, and some more will be groundbreaking next month,” he said.
Not only downstream processing, the government also discussed the development of alternative energy to support national energy resilience and self-sufficiency.
According to Bahlil, Prabowo instructed the optimisation of all domestic energy potentials. From bioethanol and biodiesel to accelerating the transition to new renewable energy (EBT).
“The President has ordered the optimisation of all energy potentials we have, whether ethanol, biodiesel from CPO, including how we can push the energy transition through new renewable energy,” he said.
