Prabowo: There Are Groups That Do Not Want to Cooperate, We Respect Them
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that there are groups in society that do not wish to cooperate in development efforts. He expressed that he does not take issue with this and respects the attitude of those societal groups. “That there are groups in society, our brothers and sisters too, our fellow citizens too, part of the greater NKRI family too, who hold a stance that can be said to be very unwilling to cooperate, we respect that, we have no problem,” said Prabowo during the Briefing at the Government Working Meeting on Wednesday (8/4). Prabowo likened the situation to villagers wanting to build a bridge through mutual cooperation. In that scenario, he said, not all villagers want to get involved in building the bridge. “But perhaps a group that does not want to join in building the bridge, well, no problem, those who want to build the bridge, come on, let’s build the bridge, those who don’t want to build the bridge, well, no problem, please sit and watch or whatever, you may criticise,” he said. He then touched on the attitude of those who do not participate in the development but continuously criticise the ongoing process. “Only I don’t understand if people want to build a bridge, there’s someone sitting, he doesn’t want to join in building, but he criticises, you’re stupid, the wood is wrong, don’t put it there, the nail is wrong, all wrong. So the bridge doesn’t get built. We who are building the bridge, what is our attitude? Are we getting nervous?” he said. “You’re stupid, you’re making a bridge, ‘yes, I’m stupid but the village people asked for a bridge, I’m building a bridge for our people,’” he added.
