PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto stated that all Indonesian citizens are shareholders in the nation’s wealth. Prabowo said that Indonesia stands on the principle of family values.

He conveyed this idea when attending the inauguration ceremony of the Ibu Marsinah Museum and Transit House in Nganjuk, East Java.

In his speech, Prabowo referred to the fifth principle of Pancasila which affirms “social justice for all Indonesian people” and Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution which is the constitutional basis of the Indonesian economic system.

Prabowo said he wanted to reaffirm the concept of Indonesia as a family state by upholding Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. He then invited entrepreneurs to become part of “Indonesia Incorporated”.

“Indonesia Incorporated actually means a family state. So, all of this nation is one corporation. That means, all Indonesian people are shareholders in all of Indonesia’s wealth,” said Prabowo in Nganjuk on Saturday, May 16, 2026, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube broadcast.

The General Chairman of the Gerindra Party emphasized that all leaders at every level of society are responsible for fighting for the people’s rights to the nation’s wealth.

“Not the other way around. Not leaders, not officials, not those who are elected, but instead collude to eliminate the rights of the people over all of Indonesia’s wealth, brothers and sisters, this is our common struggle,” said Prabowo.

On that occasion, Prabowo also mentioned that the murder of Marsinah involved collusion between state apparatus and capitalists. Marsinah was a labor activist who was killed for fighting for the rights of workers at her workplace at PT Catur Surya Putra (CPS) Sidoarjo, East Java.

While in Marsinah’s hometown, Prabowo recalled the incident of her assassination which occurred in 1993. “At that time I was young, I heard about the events in East Java but I didn’t go into it,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo was 41 years old when the kidnapping and murder of Marsinah occurred. In that year, he served in the Indonesian Armed Forces (ABRI) as commander of Group 3/Sandhi Yudha Special Forces Command or Kopassus.

Now, decades after Marsinah’s death, Prabowo said he understands what happened. “Finally today I just realized, just understood. Collusion, the apparatus was used by certain capitalists,” he said.

The former Minister of Defense in the Joko Widodo era said that the collusion between capitalists and the apparatus had become a culture in Indonesia. He also wants this culture to stop immediately.

Every state apparatus, according to Prabowo, must live and die for the people. “All apparatus, from the highest to the lowest must die for the people, not oppress the people,” he said.
