Prabowo: The Backers Usually Wear Green or Brown Uniforms, Right?

Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto says that people in green or brown uniforms are often the backers for corrupt officials or businessmen. At first, Prabowo admitted he was saddened when many officials still commit corruption or misconduct, even though their actions are easily detectable by law enforcement. ‘Do not think now that because you are a regent or governor we cannot monitor from here; technology is now great, we will quickly know if there is deviation,’ Prabowo said at the DPR plenary meeting in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). ‘I am sad when officials are still trying to corrupt; it will be quickly exposed!’ he added. Therefore, he believes the bunkers where corrupt people hide their wealth will also be found. ‘I will use the most advanced technology; defence technology can locate underground weapon warehouses. Radar now can locate mines, it can locate… We will use it to find bunkers around you,’ Prabowo said. Prabowo reminded that the government can also use satellite technology to check plantations suspected of having problems. Nevertheless, Prabowo acknowledged that rogue officials and businessmen have backers in uniform. ‘But usually those people have backers. The backers’ uniforms are usually green; if not green, then brown. Correct?’ ‘Correct!’ cried the attendees at the DPR plenary session. He also urged the public to dare to report if any official acts improperly. ‘If there are officers’ behaviours that are not proper, I ask the people to video, just video. Do not resist; just video and report directly to me,’ Prabowo said.
