Prabowo Thanks DPR, Calls for Swift Action on Community Exchange and Mineral Bourse

President Prabowo Subianto has thanked the House of Representatives (DPR) for what he described as synergistic cooperation that has enabled swift work for the people. He revealed plans for Indonesia to establish its own community exchange, requesting the DPR to discuss and finalise the matter as quickly as possible. “With the DPR’s support, we plan to have our own community exchange by 1 January 2027. We request that the provisions for the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange be discussed by the DPR and issued in the shortest possible time,” Prabowo said during the delivery of the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN) and Financial Note at the MPR/DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).

The President stressed that the increasingly strong, synergistic cooperation between the government and the DPR does not eliminate democratic space. He asserted the need for continued oversight and criticism. “Thank you, now there is very synergistic cooperation between the government and the DPR. This does not mean there is no democracy; there must be democracy, we must be supervised, we must be criticised,” he stated.

The Gerindra Party chairman reiterated the necessity of working quickly for the people, noting that the current DPR has already demonstrated this capability. “But we must work fast for our people, and I believe this has been achieved by the current DPR. I thank you,” he concluded.
