Prabowo Tells Trump: We Will Realise the Dream of Peace in Palestine
Washington DC — President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to supporting peace in Palestine through active participation in the Board of Peace.
The initiative forms part of broader international diplomatic efforts to promote a sustainable peaceful solution.
Prabowo made the remarks before United States President Donald Trump and other delegates at the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington DC on Thursday, 19 February 2026 local time.
At the forum, Prabowo firmly stated that Indonesia's decision to participate in the Board of Peace reflects the country's consistent and active stance in supporting world peace and achieving the fairest possible solution for the Palestinian people.
"We will realise the dream of peace in Palestine, a sustainable solution for Palestine and in Gaza," Prabowo said.
Prabowo expressed his optimism about achieving peace in Palestine from the very first day he studied the 20 points of Trump's proposal for the Board of Peace.
"From day one, when we studied President Trump's 20-point plan, we fully agreed and we are fully committed to this plan, and that is why we joined the Board of Peace," he said.
Despite the various challenges ahead, Prabowo expressed confidence that peace in Palestine can be achieved collectively.
"We are committed to its success. We understand there will be many obstacles, there will be many difficulties, but we are very optimistic," Prabowo affirmed.
