Prabowo Targets Full Implementation of Single-Door Export System by 1 September 2026

President Prabowo Subianto has confirmed that the single-door export policy for strategic commodities will be fully implemented starting 1 September 2026. According to Prabowo, the policy is currently in a transition phase after PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) officially began operations on 1 July 2026. “In front of the DPR at that time, we announced on 20 May 2026, our National Awakening Day, we established PT DSI to begin full operations on 1 July, as a state instrument to strengthen the governance of strategic commodity exports. We built a single-door export system so we know how much is exported, to whom, and how much foreign exchange returns to Indonesia,” Prabowo stated during a Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (20/7/2026). Prabowo further explained that the establishment of the single-door export system is the government’s effort to improve export governance while closing loopholes for under-invoicing practices. Although initially criticised, he said the policy is now gaining recognition from various foreign parties as the right step in improving commodity trade governance. “It’s normal, at first there were naysayers and so on, but it turns out the outside world acknowledges that this is the right step for Indonesia,” Prabowo said. “With the single-door export of natural resources, we are holding a transition phase, and we hope that by 1 September 2026 full implementation will occur, then this whole process will make us truly understand where our money goes,” he said. “For example, palm oil is often sold in Indonesia with an official contract price of Rp 17,000 for CPO. Rp 15,000 per kilo, even though the international price in Europe, in Rotterdam, is Rp 27,000. The real price is Rp 27,000. Who enjoys the Rp 17,000? Almost 50%. So games like this stab us in the heart,” he said. “So a company from Indonesia exports, once here it sells for Rp 14,000 (per kg), on the way to Europe, reportedly the deal changes again, so that there it is Rp 27,000. So we lose 50% of our wealth in one journey. We lose 50% of our wealth, so we will enforce this,” he said. “Thank you, I received a report from Brother Rosan, CEO of Danantara, that in just 1 month and 2 weeks of PT DSI operating, PT DSI has already managed foreign exchange amounting to more than 10.5 billion dollars,” he explained. “And it turns out, from the figures that came in before PT DSI existed, the gap in selling prices between Indonesia and international markets was at least 30%, approaching 40-45%. Once PT DSI was established, the prices have almost converged, I saw the graph, because we are firm. Continuing this practice is fraud, we will revoke all permits. I will not play favourites, we will revoke all permits of those who do not want to comply with the law in the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
