Prabowo Surveys Forest and Land Fires in Kubu Raya, Orders Officers to Move Quickly

President Prabowo Subianto inspected one of the locations affected by forest and land fires (karhutla) in Limbung Village, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Saturday (22/8/2026). The inspection was carried out to observe conditions on the ground and to ensure that the firefighting process is running optimally.

Upon arriving at the location, Prabowo walked through the burned land and observed the affected area as well as the handling process being carried out by the joint task force personnel.

During the inspection, Prabowo gave directives to the ministers and relevant officials accompanying him. He stressed the importance of handling the forest and land fires quickly and in a coordinated manner so that the flames can be brought under control immediately and do not spread to other areas.

Prabowo also approached and greeted the officers who were carrying out firefighting operations. The President’s presence at the site served as a form of attention to the fire handling efforts being undertaken by the joint elements on the ground.

In addition to the officers, Prabowo greeted a number of residents around the location. He saw firsthand the condition of the communities in the areas affected by the forest and land fires.

The inspection was conducted to ensure that the directives and strategies for handling forest and land fires can be implemented effectively in the field.

The government continues to deploy firefighting efforts as well as prevention measures to ensure that the forest and land fires in Kalimantan do not spread further.
