Prabowo surveys forest and land fires in Kubu Raya, ensures optimal handling

President Prabowo Subianto travelled to one of the fire-affected locations in Limbung Village, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, to see conditions on the ground first-hand and ensure that firefighting efforts are proceeding optimally.

According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Saturday, upon arriving at the location, President Prabowo was seen walking through the burnt land. The Head of State observed the affected area up close as well as the firefighting process being carried out by joint personnel.

During the inspection, President Prabowo also gave instructions to the accompanying ministers and relevant officials.

President Prabowo stressed the importance of handling forest and land fires quickly and in a coordinated manner so that the flames can be brought under control promptly and do not spread to other areas.

He also approached and greeted the personnel who were carrying out firefighting duties. The Head of State’s presence among the personnel was a form of appreciation for the hard work of all elements directly involved in controlling the fires on the ground.

In addition to interacting with the personnel, President Prabowo also greeted a number of residents near the location. The interaction was part of the Head of State’s inspection to see first-hand the situation of communities in areas affected by forest and land fires.

By going directly to the fire location, President Prabowo wanted to ensure that the directives and strategies for handling forest and land fires can be implemented effectively on the ground.

The government also continues to deploy various efforts to accelerate firefighting while preventing the spread of forest and land fires in Kalimantan.
