Prabowo Surprised by His Melodious Voice on YouTube Despite Inability to Sing

The capabilities of generative AI technology, increasingly sophisticated in creating realistic content, once surprised President Prabowo Subianto. For instance, there are fake videos of him speaking Mandarin and Arabic, even singing melodiously.

Prabowo stated that AI can make someone say anything they did not actually say, appearing very similar to reality. He even saw a video showing himself singing with a beautiful voice.

“AI can make someone say what they did not say; I often see that. Me, my voice is bad, I can’t sing. There’s one on YouTube, Prabowo singing, my voice is really good, I was shocked. That’s fine, if it’s beneficial, it’s okay; if not, what then,” said the President on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Another fake video produced by AI circulating on YouTube shows him giving speeches in various languages, from Mandarin to Arabic.

“Because during the campaign, I thought it was in the tapal kuda area, beneficial. So I stayed silent too. If it’s beneficial, we stay silent,” said Prabowo.

The tapal kuda area is a term used for regions in East Java with a strong santri culture.

However, the President reminded that the capabilities of this AI technology hold dangers because it can be used for slander.

“This is a problem for us; be wary, later we accept those corrections; if we are slandered and vilified, consider it as a warning so that we stay alert,” said Prabowo.
