Prabowo: Support for Palestine Is Non-Negotiable

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that Indonesia will continue to pursue a free and active foreign policy. Prabowo stated that there is one non-negotiable principle, namely support for the Palestinian independence struggle. He made the remarks while attending the peak celebration of the 28th Anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB) on Thursday (23/7). “As soon as I was inaugurated, I announced Indonesia’s foreign policy. We are grateful that we are non-aligned, we have no enemies,” said Prabowo. He said Indonesia respects all countries and powers. Indonesia wants to be a good neighbour to other countries. “We want to be free and active. I said that Indonesia’s foreign policy under the administration led by Prabowo Subianto is a policy of being a good neighbour. The good neighbour policy. We want to be good neighbours. We are good to all powers, but what we cannot bargain over is supporting the Palestinian independence struggle,” he stated. Prabowo said Indonesia does not want to be disturbed by other countries. Indonesia is also currently building its defence strength. “But where is our defence strength? Our defence strength is the universal people’s defence. Our defence lies in the people’s love for their country. That is our strength. We do not want to disturb others, but the entire Indonesian people will defend their sovereignty, defend their independence, defend their future,” he said.
