Prabowo Summons Three Commanders After Flag-Lowering Ceremony
President Prabowo Subianto asked three commanders on duty during the Red and White Flag-Lowering Ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence to report to him at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (17/8).
The request was made by Prabowo after receiving a report from the Ceremony Commander, Senior Commissioner Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy, that the ceremony proceedings had been completed.
“Thank you for the orderly and solemn execution of the ceremony. Ceremony commander, corps of drums commander, and all unit commanders report to me. Continue,” said Prabowo.
The Red and White Flag-Lowering Ceremony began at approximately 4:40 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. Prabowo acted as the ceremony inspector and led the procession, which was attended by the flag-raising troop, a number of state officials, and invited guests.
The ceremony concluded after the Paskibraka Team Indonesia Adil Makmur successfully lowered the Red and White Flag.
Senior Commissioner Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy served as the ceremony commander. Meanwhile, Neeltje Deliana Insjowi Werimon from Papua was selected as the tray bearer in the flag-lowering procession.
After being lowered, the Red and White Flag was handed by Neeltje to Prabowo as the ceremony inspector. Subsequently, the Red and White Flag and the Proclamation text were carried back by the procession entourage to the National Monument (Monas).
