Prabowo Summons Rosan for Late-Night Talks on SOE Transformation
President Prabowo Subianto received Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Rosan Roeslani, at his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday, 21 June 2026. The meeting discussed strategic steps to manage state assets more optimally to generate greater benefits for the public. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that President Prabowo is paying close attention to strengthening national asset management through the acceleration of state-owned enterprise (SOE) transformation and the development of new economic sectors that could drive national growth. The President wants the nation’s assets to be managed properly to provide real benefits for the people. In the meeting, President Prabowo and Minister Rosan discussed various new economic growth opportunities that Danantara could promote, including strengthening the tourism sector through integrated national and international-scale events. These include sports events, music concerts, and creative industries capable of creating jobs, attracting investment, and boosting national economic turnover. The President also focused on the ongoing process of SOE consolidation and transformation, a step deemed important to increase efficiency and strengthen corporate governance. According to the Cabinet Secretary, out of a total of approximately 1,077 SOE entities, 258 have been successfully consolidated, with a target of reaching around 300 entities in the near future. This measure is expected to enhance efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce the cost burden borne by the state. The transformation of SOEs and the optimisation of state assets are part of President Prabowo’s broader agenda to turn national wealth into a sustainable economic growth engine, increase Indonesia’s competitiveness, and ensure every state asset provides maximum added value for the prosperity of the people.
