Prabowo Summons Pertamina CEO to Discuss B50 and Streamlining Subsidiaries

President Prabowo Subianto received the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon A. Mantiri, at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Sunday. During the meeting, Pertamina discussed the implementation of the mandatory B50, or 50% biodiesel, programme. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency, M. Herindra, and the Minister of Defence, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. The Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, stated in a written release that Simon reported on the progress of the B50 programme, which was launched by President Prabowo in July. The programme is a key government measure to strengthen national energy independence and security through the increased use of domestic energy sources. Beyond the energy agenda, President Prabowo also issued directives regarding the governance of state-owned enterprises. He ordered a reduction in the layers of management and the number of subsidiaries within Pertamina, the state electricity company PLN, and other state-owned enterprises. The streamlining of these corporate structures is intended to create more agile and productive state-owned companies, with the aim of enabling faster decision-making and maintaining greater overall efficiency.
