Prabowo Summons Luhut and Chatib Basri to Hambalang: Here's What Was Discussed
President Prabowo Subianto received the National Economic Council (DEN) at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday (14/7/2026). The meeting focused on the latest national economic developments and the refinement of GovTech implementation. The meeting was attended by DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Vice Chairman Mari Elka Pangestu, and other council members including Chatib Basri, Firman Hidayat, Tubagus Nugraha, and Pantro Pander Silitonga. Luhut and the DEN members reported on the current state of the national economy while providing strategic recommendations for strengthening Indonesia’s economy amidst global dynamics. Beyond economic issues, the DEN also reported on progress in refining GovTech as part of accelerating the government’s digital transformation. The refinement of digital-based government services is directed at improving data accuracy and ensuring that government programmes reach those who are truly entitled, thereby minimising targeting errors, strengthening the effectiveness of aid distribution, and realising a more modern, efficient, and transparent governance. Through an integrated system, the government hopes to increase the effectiveness of various priority programmes while strengthening transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Special Assistants to the President Dirgayuza Setiawan and Agung Gumilar.
