President Prabowo Subianto summoned the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) to the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday afternoon, following the announcement of the resignation of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo. The meeting was attended by members of the KSSK, including the Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti, Deputy Governor Thomas A.M. Djiwandono, and other members of the BI Board of Governors. “It’s a coordination meeting,” Damayanti stated. Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari added that the meeting was to discuss the current situation. Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Anggito Abimanyu declined to comment ahead of the limited meeting. Earlier, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced that President Prabowo had accepted the resignation of BI Governor Perry Warjiyo and would follow up according to the mechanisms stipulated in the Bank Indonesia Law. The government will immediately proceed with the administrative process for Warjiyo’s honourable discharge through the issuance of a Presidential Decree.
