Prabowo summons health minister after Luhut and Chatib Basri
President Prabowo Subianto continued to summon Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, following National Economic Council Chair Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and senior economist Chatib Basri who had arrived earlier. Budi Gunadi Sadikin arrived at the Presidential Palace around 5 p.m. Western Indonesian Time after President Prabowo received credentials from nine ambassadors of friendly nations. However, when asked about the agenda of his meeting with the President, the health minister did not answer. Budi Gunadi merely greeted journalists while walking hurriedly with quick steps. “Hello,” the health minister said to journalists. “Keep healthy, all of you,” he added before entering the room. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who has a track record of leading a state-owned bank and several state-owned enterprises as well as having served as deputy minister for state-owned enterprises, visited the Presidential Palace amid swirling rumours of a reshuffle of the Merah Putih cabinet, particularly concerning the position of finance minister currently held by Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. At Merdeka Palace earlier in the day, besides receiving the DEN chair, Chatib Basri, and the health minister, President Prabowo also received credentials from nine ambassadors: Ambassador of Guatemala to Indonesia Manuel Estuardo Roldan Barillas, Ambassador of Qatar to Indonesia Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari, Ambassador of Kenya to Indonesia Abdirashid Salat Abdile, and Ambassador of the Republic of Fiji to Indonesia Ratu Isoa Delamisi Tikoca. Also present were Ambassador of Morocco to Indonesia Redouane Houssaini, Ambassador of Portugal to Indonesia Maria Gabriela Vieira Soares de Albergaria, Ambassador of Panama to Indonesia Bernardo Brea Rodriguez, Ambassador of North Korea to Indonesia Hong Kwang Il, and Ambassador of Mozambique to Indonesia Antonio Rodrigues Jose. At Merdeka Palace today, President Prabowo also held a restricted meeting with Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, and other senior TNI officials.
