President Prabowo Subianto received TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, and all three service chiefs at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday. Prabowo was accompanied by Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

During the meeting, the TNI Commander and the service chiefs reported on the progress of various strategic programmes being implemented by the TNI. They presented the achievements of programmes that directly support equitable development and the improvement of public welfare.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy outlined several key programmes, including the progress of constructing 2,500 village bridges targeted for completion by August 2026, the development of nearly 3,000 clean water points across various regions of Indonesia, and the ongoing rural electrification programme, particularly in the outermost regions. The meeting also covered the TNI’s simultaneous social service activities, which will be held across Indonesia to enliven the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence.

The discussion also addressed the TNI’s support for various government priority programmes. Teddy stated that during the meeting, Prabowo specifically directed that for the 81st Independence Day commemoration, the TNI should present something special for the public. Through these various programmes, the TNI continues to strengthen its role, not only as the front line in safeguarding state sovereignty, but also as a strategic partner of the government in accelerating equitable development.
