Prabowo Summons Defence Minister, BIN Chief, and TNI Commander to Palace Meeting
President Prabowo Subianto received TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Vice TNI Commander Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, as well as the Chiefs of Staff of the Army (General Maruli Simanjuntak), Navy (Admiral Muhammad Ali), and Air Force (Marshal Mohamaf Tonny Harjono) at the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (9/6/2026). The meeting discussed the progress of various TNI strategic programmes that support equitable development across Indonesia. During the meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Muhammad Herindra, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Letkol Inf Teddy Indra Wijaya. Also present was the Head of the National Logistics Agency of the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice-Marshal Yusuf Jauhari. According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, the TNI Commander and the Chiefs of Staff reported on a number of programme achievements implemented by the TNI, including achievements that directly support equitable development and the improvement of public welfare. Teddy explained that one programme of focus is the effort to provide electricity access to communities in Papua, particularly in the highlands. The electricity programme for Papua, run by the Army, continues to show positive progress and has now reached more than 200 villages. Furthermore, the construction of the Garuda Suspension Bridge, which serves to connect villages in various regions of Indonesia, is also ongoing and has now reached nearly 2,000 points.
