JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto summoned the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon (16/4/2026).

Observations by Kompas.com at the location showed Bahlil arriving wearing a white shirt. Bahlil also carried a white folder.

Bahlil stated that he was about to meet with Prabowo first. Bahlil did not answer whether he was summoned regarding oil supplies from Russia or not.

“Meeting first with Sir, then when I return, I will report,” Bahlil said briefly.

Previously, Prabowo had instructed Bahlil to seek supplies of crude oil and LPG gas from Russia.

According to the Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Lieutenant Colonel TNI Teddy Indra Wijaya, Russian President Vladimir Putin had already increased cooperation regarding oil and LPG reserves during his meeting with Prabowo in Moscow on Monday (13/4/2026).

“In Moscow, the meeting with President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the enhancement of cooperation related to long-term national energy supplies, including crude oil and LPG reserves,” Teddy wrote on the Cabinet Secretariat’s IG account on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

“President Prabowo tasked Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to meet with Putin’s special envoy and the Russian Minister of Energy for further detailed discussions today in Moscow,” he added.
