Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto summoned several ministers to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon for a limited meeting to discuss issues related to food, energy, and Ramadhan-to-Eid agendas.

Ministers arriving by 16:00 WIB included Coordinating Minister for Food Security Zulkifli Hasan; Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia; Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar; Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) head and chief executive of Danantara; and Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Technology, who is also the head of the Mineral Industry Agency, Brian Yuliarto.

Some ministers, when asked about the afternoon agenda, said they would report in line with their respective fields.

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, upon arriving at the Palace, explained he would report on the Nuzulul Qur’an events to be held in the near future. He could not yet specify the location or timing, saying, “We will ask the President later.”

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the meeting would cover energy, food, and the government’s readiness ahead of Idul Fitri. “Today is the thirteenth day of fasting. This concerns the availability of staple foods, LPG, and other matters related to the national economy,” he said.

Coordinating Minister for Food Security Zulkifli Hasan explained that he would report the ministry’s findings from on-the-ground checks of food availability and prices in several regions. He noted that pepper prices remained relatively high owing to a reduced supply from farmers amid the rainy season. “I am assigned three days a week to go out to monitor food availability, MBG (Makan Bergizi Gratis), Village Cooperatives, and Fishermen’s Villages, and to prepare for greater rice production, irrigation, and fertiliser,” Zulhas told reporters before meeting President Prabowo.
