Prabowo summons Bahlil and Zulhas to the Palace
President Prabowo Subianto has summoned Coordinating Minister for Nutrition and Food Zulkifli Hasan and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. They visited the palace on Wednesday afternoon, 4 March 2026.
On arrival, Zulkifli said he intended to report the preparations for Eid al-Fitr 2026 to Prabowo. ‘How will Eid be in terms of food availability, and affordable prices?’ said the head of the National Mandate Party.
Prabowo, according to Zulkifli, ordered him to travel around Indonesia. The president asked him to check food availability in the regions and other programmes such as free nutritious meals. ‘I have been tasked with going out three days a week,’ he said.
According to Zulkifli, he will also ensure that market operations in the regions run smoothly ahead of Eid. Prabowo asked that regents and mayors ensure basic necessities bazaars are held in their respective areas.
The government, according to Zulkilfi, will also discuss the use of unforeseen funds for this Eid al-Fitr. The funds could be used to provide subsidies ahead of Eid.
Meanwhile Bahlil said he would report on the readiness of energy reserves ahead of Eid al-Fitr. ‘We are now on the 13th day of fasting; this concerns food supply, energy, LPG, and other matters related to the national economy,’ said Bahlil.
Bahlil said the government has anticipated that fuel stocks in the country will be sufficient until Eid. ‘God willing everything is safe, including LPG, so there is no need for doubt,’ said the Golkar party chairman.
Aside from Bahlil and Zulkifli, several other officials also visited the Presidential Palace on Wednesday afternoon. They included Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Head of Danantara; Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly; and Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Religious Affairs.
Nasaruddin said his attendance was to report on preparations for Nuzul al-Quran to President Prabowo. The commemoration of Nuzul al-Quran, or the day the Quran was revealed on earth, falls on 17 Ramadan. ‘We want to report only on Nuzul al-Quran,’ Nasaruddin told reporters on arrival at the Presidential Palace this afternoon.
