Prabowo Summons AHY and Rosan to Palace to Discuss Progress of Sea Wall Project
In addition to Rosan and AHY, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, who also serves as the Head of the North Java Coast Management Authority, and the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo.
The meeting is scheduled to take place this afternoon. Rosan confirmed that the discussion will cover the sea wall, though he did not provide details on what will be reported.
“Yes, yes, the sea wall,” Rosan said briefly on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
It is known that planning for the Giant Sea Wall project, or the giant sea wall on the North Coast of Java, is being accelerated. The government plans for this project to commence soon.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto, revealed that this strategic project could save 60% of the industrial areas in northern Java from the threat of rising sea levels.
“The Giant Sea Wall is strategic, saving 60% of industrial areas and more than 30 million residents. If this programme runs, it will at least save those two aspects,” Brian said after a meeting on Monday (20/4).
