Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto disclosed that associations of entrepreneurs responded positively to the government policy on exporting through PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI). He reported these reactions to President Prabowo Subianto at the Istana complex in Jakarta on Friday (22 May 2026). He said: ‘Almost all associations, domestic and international, appreciate the government’s policy and are prepared to cooperate with the body formed by the government.’ The government has established a new state-owned enterprise, PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), which will begin operating on 1 June. DSI will operate under the BPI Danantara, focusing on managing export transactions for a number of strategic natural resource commodities. ‘The Investment Minister/Head of BKPM has formed PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. It will be explained further,’ Airlangga said at a press conference at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). For the next three months until 31 December 2026, DSI will function as an evaluator and intermediary between sellers and buyers for certain commodities exported abroad. After that, DSI will operate fully from January 2027, buying directly from exporters, holding goods, and bearing trading risks before selling them to international markets. The policy aims to eliminate data manipulation or underinvoicing and to optimise the foreign exchange earnings from exports into Indonesia.
