Prabowo Suddenly in One-on-One Meeting with Luhut, Here's What Was Discussed

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (21/4/2026). The meeting discussed developments in the domestic and international economy.

“In the meeting, domestic economic developments were discussed within the global dynamics,” quoted from the Instagram @sekretariat.kabinet on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

It was explained that national economic activity remains stable, although vigilance is required in facing the occurring dynamics. Additionally, it was mentioned that the government has prepared anticipatory measures to respond to the impact of global conflicts while maintaining growth momentum.

On that occasion, Luhut also conveyed several scenarios to maintain public purchasing power and ensure the state budget (APBN) remains controlled. This includes the implementation of government digitalisation or GovTech.

Currently, the GovTech programme is being trialled in Banyuwangi, East Java, and is being expanded to 42 districts/cities.

“This step is expected to increase transparency and accuracy in targeting social assistance distribution,” the caption stated.

Regarding global dynamics, the government has also identified potential to attract capital flows from the Middle East through accelerating the formation of the Indonesia Financial Center to strengthen investment attractiveness.
