Prabowo Subianto Receives Consolidation Report on Hundreds of SOEs from Danantara
President Prabowo Subianto received a report on the completion of the consolidation of 258 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) from BPI Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani at Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Sunday (21/6). The merger of hundreds of state-owned entities is an initial step, with Danantara now preparing to continue the next phase of consolidation targeting approximately 300 other state companies. This mass restructuring reduces the number of entities from a total of 1,077 companies, with a primary focus on improving operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and boosting the competitiveness of state corporations in both national and global markets. ‘Out of a total of 1,077 SOE entities, 258 entities have been successfully consolidated, and around 300 other entities will soon follow,’ Rosan said, as quoted from his official Instagram account @rosanroeslani on Tuesday (23/6/2026). The structural merger is considered crucial so that each business entity can mutually reinforce their internal management amid economic challenges. ‘This consolidation aims to increase efficiency, strengthen governance, and enlarge competitiveness,’ explained Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM. In addition to discussing corporate structure improvements, the strategic meeting also mapped out the expansion of Danantara’s role into several potential sectors to boost national economic turnover. ‘We also discussed opportunities for developing new sectors that Danantara can drive, such as tourism, sports events, and the creative industry, to create more jobs and increase national economic turnover,’ Rosan stated.
