Prabowo Subianto Departs Paris After State Visit, Returns to Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto concluded his official state visit to Paris, France. He and a limited delegation departed from Orly Airport in Paris bound for Jakarta.

According to the Presidential Secretariat Bureau, Friday, 29 May 2026, President Prabowo was greeted by a 21-member honour guard standing on both sides of the red carpet upon arrival at Orly Airport in Paris before boarding the aircraft.

Those present to greet President Prabowo at the red carpet included France’s Minister for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and Overseas French Citizens, Eléonore Caroit, and Paris Military Governor General Loïc Mizon. The farewell ceremony was conducted solemnly as a mark of respect from the French Republic to Indonesia’s Head of State.

Under the aircraft stairs, President Prabowo was also escorted off by officials including French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and Indonesian Defence Attaché in Paris Air Vice Marshal Hendra Gunawan.

During his stay in Paris, President Prabowo undertook several engagements to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France. He began with a state welcome ceremony at Les Invalides and bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

Additionally, he attended a state dinner hosted by President Macron at the Salle des Fêtes in the Élysée Palace. During the state visit, President Prabowo also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with the Indonesian community and diaspora in Paris.

The state visit underscores Indonesia’s commitment to active diplomacy and expanding strategic cooperation with friendly nations in Europe.

Accompanying President Prabowo on the return flight to Jakarta were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
