Prabowo stresses law must not serve group interests

President Prabowo Subianto has stressed that the law must be enforced fairly and must not be used as a tool to serve the interests of certain groups or political agendas. The President stated that the law should be a refuge for the people, especially the weak. According to him, as a state based on law, the government must ensure it can provide protection and a sense of justice for its citizens. “The law must be a refuge for the weak. The law must not be sharp downwards and blunt upwards. The law must not become a tool for those with money,” said President Prabowo at the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration ceremony at the Brimob Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday. He also stressed that law enforcers must not discriminate or abuse their authority. “The law must not be used as a tool for political revenge. The law must not be used for the interests of any group whatsoever. There must be no criminalisation. There must be no abuse of authority,” President Prabowo asserted. Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasised that the state must ensure that the weak receive protection, while those seeking justice receive proper service. “I stress once again. The weakest people must receive protection. People seeking truth and justice must be served. The innocent must feel safe. The guilty must be held accountable for their actions,” the President added.
