Prabowo stresses law must not serve group interests

Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has asserted that the law must be enforced fairly and must not be used as a tool to serve the interests of certain groups or political agendas.

President Prabowo stated that the law must serve as a sanctuary for the public, particularly for the vulnerable. He noted that as a state governed by the rule of law, the government must ensure it provides protection and a sense of justice for its people.

“The law must be a place of refuge for the weak. The law must not be sharp downwards and blunt upwards. The law must not become a tool for those with money,” said President Prabowo during the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration ceremony at the Brimob Training Unit (Satlat), Cikeas, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday.

He also emphasised that law enforcement officers must avoid discrimination and the abuse of power.

“The law must not become a tool for political revenge. The law must not be used for the interests of any group. There must be no criminalisation. There must be no abuse of authority,” President Prabowo asserted.

Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasised that the state must ensure the vulnerable receive protection, while those seeking justice can receive the appropriate services.

“I reiterate. The weakest citizens must receive protection. Those seeking truth and justice must be served. The innocent must feel safe. The guilty must be held accountable for their actions,” added President Prabowo.
