Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that Indonesia is on the correct course in navigating global geopolitical dynamics through its consistent implementation of active free and non-aligned foreign policy that does not favour any particular bloc.

Prabowo stated that the current global situation is fraught with tensions and conflicts across various regions, such as the Middle East. He noted that although Indonesia is geographically distant from these conflict zones, the effects remain felt because the world is increasingly interconnected.

“Our nation, our country is on the right path. We are on a path of non-alignment. We have always been on the path of active freedom and non-bloc solidarity,” he said, as quoted in a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Monday afternoon.

The President assessed that this global condition serves as a reminder of the importance of Indonesia maintaining an independent foreign policy stance that is not bound to the interests of any particular bloc.

Prabowo stated that this approach aligns with Indonesia’s national values that uphold diversity.

“We respect all powers, we respect all nations. That is Indonesia. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika within our nation, but also internationally we respect all peoples, respect all religions, respect all races, respect all ethnic groups,” he said.

He added that this approach is one of the factors that enables Indonesia to maintain stability and live peacefully amidst the diversity of hundreds of ethnic groups in the country.

“This is what makes Indonesia now enjoying a peaceful condition. We can live alongside hundreds of ethnic groups but we can be harmonious,” Prabowo added.
