Prabowo States Indonesia's Condition is Safe Amid Middle East Crisis
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto assesses that Indonesia’s current condition is still safe and relatively better than other countries, even as the world faces the impacts of the conflict in the Middle East.
Prabowo also stated that he has studied various data and reports from his ministers regarding the economic situation and national resilience.
“So what we are experiencing now, the crisis occurring in the Middle East that is causing energy prices to soar, we must be convinced and grateful that our nation’s condition is far better than other nations,” said Prabowo during his briefing at the State Palace on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Prabowo’s remarks were met with applause from the attending ministers. Prabowo paused his speech briefly.
“Applause for good news,” he said.
Prabowo further stated that the global crisis resulting from the Middle East conflict serves as a reminder of the importance of managing natural resources, as emphasised by the nation’s founders.
He stressed that the constitution, through the 1945 Constitution, mandates that the earth and water must be controlled by the state because they concern the livelihood of the many.
This makes Indonesia’s condition far better than other countries.
