Prabowo States Disaster Recovery in Aceh is Nearly 100 Percent Complete, Residents No Longer in Tents
JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that the post-disaster recovery process from the floods and landslides that struck Aceh Province is progressing very quickly. As of now, according to him, recovery in Aceh is nearly 100 percent complete. “Yes, the repairs, the recovery is very fast. Alhamdulillah, nearly 100 percent,” said Prabowo after Eid prayers at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday (21/3/2026), quoted from Kompas TV. Residents whose homes were affected by the disaster are now beginning to live in housing units. “100 percent have all left the tents and entered temporary housing or permanent housing that has started,” said Prabowo. “Electricity is almost all running, nearly 100 percent. Only five villages out of all of Aceh, only five villages that are indeed difficult,” he added. The Head of State said the situation in Aceh has improved. “All aid has been distributed to the people, alhamdulillah,” he stated. Prabowo also appreciated the performance of all parties who have helped with post-disaster recovery in Sumatra. He expressed thanks for the work of all parties, both the community and the central and regional government apparatus, in recovering Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. As information, major floods and landslides struck three Sumatran provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, in November 2025.
