Prabowo: State Revenue of Rp10 Trillion Could Renovate 5,000 Puskesmas

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto stated that state revenue of Rp10.27 trillion from enforcement actions in the form of administrative fines and state financial salvage can be used to improve around 5,000 puskesmas in Indonesia.

According to Prabowo at the handover event of the enforcement results in the form of administrative fines and state financial salvage amounting to Rp10.27 trillion at the Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, he has received a report from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin that around 10,000 puskesmas in Indonesia have not been repaired for about 30 years.

The budget requirement for renovating one puskesmas is estimated at Rp2 billion, so the total need to repair 10,000 puskesmas amounts to around Rp20 trillion.

The President said that the Rp10 trillion received today can be used to complete the renovation of around 5,000 puskesmas.

“I said, how much money do you need to repair 10,000? Approximately Rp2 billion per puskesmas. So, we need about Rp20 trillion. Actually, today that means we can complete 5,000 puskesmas with Rp10 trillion,” said Prabowo.

If the additional state revenue is realised, then all puskesmas can be repaired. Besides puskesmas, he said, the funds can also be used to repair schools that have not yet been renovated.

“If next month another Rp10 trillion comes in from the Task Force, plus Rp39 trillion from PPATK, that means Rp49 trillion, so all puskesmas can easily be repaired, and schools that have not been repaired can soon be fixed,” said the Head of State.

Prabowo added that in last year’s state budget, the government had repaired 17,000 schools. This year, the government is repairing 70,000 schools and targeting the repair of 100,000 schools next year, as well as another 100,000 schools the following year.

“In last year’s state budget, we have already repaired 17,000 schools. This year, we are repairing 70,000 schools, next year we will repair 100,000, the year after that 100,000, and the year after that we will also complete all madrasahs and so on, we will repair everything,” said Prabowo.

On that occasion, the President also expressed appreciation to the PKH Task Force, the Attorney General’s Office, the Police, the TNI, the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and PPATK for their efforts in salvaging state assets.
