Prabowo Speaks Out: There Are Individuals Who Use Their Authority to Aid State Fund Thieves
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has acknowledged that there are individuals who use their authority and power to assist those stealing state funds.
Despite being given tasks and honours by the state to protect natural resources, they do so.
“We must admit that among our bureaucracy, among our ministries and agencies, among our institutions, there are individuals entrusted with tasks and honours by the state, but who use their authority and power instead to help those who steal from the state’s money,” said Prabowo at the event for the handover of administrative fines and the recovery of state funds at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).
Therefore, he considers the work of saving the nation’s wealth to be a job full of honour and nobility.
“We understand (that there are those who assist in the theft). That is why I appreciate your work (those who work upright). You are among those who still have a great sense of responsibility towards the state, the nation, and our people,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo expressed pride in the Task Force for Forest Area Regulation (Satgas PKH), which has successfully saved Rp370 trillion over a period of 1.5 years.
He extended his thanks to Satgas PKH for their efforts in saving state funds.
Prabowo also gave high appreciation for their sacrifices.
“For us, for the elites in Jakarta in air-conditioned rooms, we can imagine how difficult the work of Satgas PKH is. And I understand you, I understand because as president, I have many eyes and ears; I know that many Satgas PKH members have been threatened, intimidated, and so on. Once again, I greatly appreciate your work and sacrifices,” he said.
Prabowo then calculated that the total amount saved is equivalent to 10 percent of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
