Prabowo Speaks Frankly: This Crisis is an Opportunity for Me

President Prabowo Subianto has a perspective on the crisis currently occurring in the world. This view was expressed by Prabowo when delivering instructions at the Government Working Meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “This crisis, for me, is an opportunity. Crisis, difficulty, challenge, obstacle, hurdle is an opportunity,” he said. According to Prabowo, the current situation requires everyone to work better and more efficiently. “We must not be wasteful, there must be no leaks, there must be no corruption,” he stated. Prabowo then revealed that Indonesia must not become a nation that is too relaxed. Therefore, Prabowo invited all parties to conduct self-correction. “Our nation has been given too much by the Almighty. So we become like this. It’s fine, Mr Bahlil (Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia) says it’s safe, so we’re relaxed,” he said. “Safe does not mean we relax. We work, we stay alert,” continued the chairman general of the Great Indonesia Movement Party.
