Prabowo Sings 'Hymne Guru' with Students During Inspection of Free Nutritious Meal Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto sang the ‘Hymne Guru’ (Teachers’ Hymn) alongside students while inspecting the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at SMP Negeri 111 Jakarta on Tuesday.
As reported, the activity took place as Prabowo entered several classrooms to directly observe the execution of the MBG programme. In one of the classrooms, a warm and intimate atmosphere was evident as the President conversed with students regarding their future aspirations. The President asked students who wished to become doctors, engineers, teachers, or even football players, to which the students responded enthusiastically by raising their hands.
‘Who wants to be a doctor? Who wants to be an engineer? Who wants to be a teacher? Who wants to be a football player?’ Prabowo asked. The interaction between Prabowo and the students was filled with familiarity and lighthearted jokes that eased the classroom atmosphere. On this occasion, President Prabowo and the students sang the ‘Hymne Guru’ together.
During the inspection, Prabowo also personally observed the delivery of the MBG programme in various classrooms. The students appeared to enjoy the nutritious meals provided through the programme. In one classroom, the President joined the students to eat the MBG meal alongside them.
Prabowo’s arrival at the school premises was met with enthusiasm by the students who had been waiting. Cheers and warm greetings accompanied the President’s steps as he entered the school area, which were met with smiles and waves. This visit to SMPN 111 Jakarta is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that this national priority programme is running effectively and providing direct benefits to students. At the school, the MBG programme does not merely provide food on desks, but also fosters the belief that every Indonesian child has an equal opportunity to dream big and realise those dreams for the future of the nation.
