Prabowo Signs Presidential Regulation on Salary Increases for Ad Hoc Judges up to Rp105 Million
President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has signed Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026 on the financial rights and facilities for ad hoc judges.
The regulation, signed on 5 February 2026, governs the financial rights and facilities received by ad hoc judges, including allowances, state housing, transportation facilities, health insurance, security guarantees while performing duties, travel expenses, and appreciation payments.
“Ad hoc judges are provided with monthly allowances. The allowances for ad hoc judges in each court are listed in the attachment, which forms an inseparable part of this Presidential Regulation,” states Article 3 of the regulation.
The regulation also governs the appreciation payment for ad hoc judges, awarded at the end of their term based on the calculation of their tenure.
The calculation of the term, as stipulated in Article 12 paragraph (4), is as follows:
up to 1 (one) year: 0.2 (zero point two) x appreciation payment;
more than 1 (one) year up to 2 (two) years: 0.4 (zero point four) x appreciation payment;
more than 2 (two) years up to 3 (three) years: 0.6 (zero point six) x appreciation payment;
more than 3 (three) years up to 4 (four) years: 0.8 (zero point eight) x appreciation payment; and
more than 4 (four) years up to less than 5 (five) years: 1 (one) x appreciation payment.
Furthermore, the regulation states that ad hoc judges dismissed dishonourably from their positions due to severe administrative sanctions and/or imprisoned for committing criminal acts based on a court decision with final legal force shall not receive the appreciation payment.
In addition, ad hoc judges are entitled to occupy state housing and transportation facilities during their assignment in the designated area. If not available, ad hoc judges may be provided with housing and transportation allowances according to the state’s financial capacity.
