Prabowo Showcases Seized Funds of Rp31.3 Trillion: Enough to Renovate 500,000 Houses

President Prabowo Subianto revealed that since October 2024, the government through law enforcement agencies has saved state funds amounting to Rp31.3 trillion.

According to Prabowo, this amount is substantial and could even renovate more than 500,000 homes for low-income communities. If used for schools, he said, it would suffice to repair 34,000 schools.

“This is a very large figure. Just imagine, with this money we could repair 34,000 of our schools across Indonesia, brothers and sisters. Last year we only managed to repair 17,000 schools,” Prabowo stated.

“It can also be imagined if it helps renovate homes for low-income people; this could repair more than 500,000 homes,” he added.

Prabowo attended and gave directions at the handover event of Rp11.4 billion from the collection of forestry administrative fines by the Forest Area Regulation Task Force at the Attorney General’s Office, on Friday (10/4).

Prabowo explained that the Rp31.3 trillion figure is the accumulation of total state fund recoveries from various cases. In October 2024, he said, the government successfully seized Rp13.2 trillion, and in December Rp6.7 trillion.

“And today, 10 April, we have successfully saved Rp11.4 trillion. Thus, the total cash we have saved to date is Rp31.3 trillion,” he said.

In addition, Prabowo stated, the Forest Area Regulation Task Force has also successfully returned state assets from the forestry sector with a value reaching Rp370 trillion. According to him, this amount reaches 10 percent of the state budget of Rp3,700 trillion.

“If we calculate Rp370 trillion, we can estimate that we could repair all schools across Indonesia, make them modern, equip them with digitalisation and smart digital screens,” he said.

“I want to express my thanks to you who work in the Forest Area Regulation Task Force. My highest appreciation for your sacrifices,” Prabowo added.
