Prabowo Showcases 21-Month Leadership Achievements: 'We Have Begun Solving Complex Problems'
President Prabowo Subianto has highlighted the achievements of his administration over the past 21 months, asserting that his government has begun to resolve complex national problems. He made the remarks during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at the Nusantara Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 14 August 2026.
The Head of State began by recalling his return to the chamber after being inaugurated as President alongside Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. “On that day, 20 October 2024, before this honourable assembly, before all the people of Indonesia, and most importantly before God Almighty, I swore to carry out the leadership of the state and nation with sincerity and honesty, prioritising the interests of all Indonesian people, including those who did not vote for me, to fulfil the promises I made and to honour my oath as President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo stated.
Under his leadership, Prabowo has implemented four main guiding principles. First, his administration works to uphold and execute the mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Second, the government works to safeguard and protect the nation’s core and vital national interests. “This includes managing and stewarding Indonesia’s national wealth as effectively as possible so that it can be fully utilised for the prosperity of all Indonesian people,” he said. Third, the government strives to alleviate the people’s hardships in the shortest possible time. Finally, the administration is always oriented towards the interests of the people, their children, and their grandchildren.
“Today, 21 months since that oath was taken, I return before this assembly to report on what we have done, what we have begun to achieve, and what still needs to be resolved,” he continued. Prabowo admitted he has not yet been able to solve all the nation’s problems. However, in less than two years, he argued, his team has proven that with the courage to make decisions, hard work based on a sincere heart, a clear will, an orientation towards the people, and mutual cooperation from all elements of the nation, significant progress is possible.
