Prabowo Shares Iftar with President MBZ and PEA Leaders
To begin the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo Subianto shared an iftar meal with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), and six other PEA leaders at Qasr Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi. This moment also served as a welcome for Prabowo’s visit.
The iftar gathering was posted on the Instagram accounts of the Cabinet Secretariat and Prabowo on Friday (27/2/2026) in the early hours. Prabowo was welcomed by President MBZ in an area that resembled a courtyard, which also served as the venue for the iftar. In the area, several sofas and tables were arranged in a circular formation.
Prabowo sat next to President MBZ in the middle. The other PEA leaders were also present, sitting facing the two leaders. They included the Emir of Dubai, who is also the Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as the Emirs of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
It is worth noting that the meeting of the seven PEA leaders, including President MBZ, is held only once a year. The series of meetings continued with a joint iftar, which took place in a solemn and harmonious atmosphere.
“Alhamdulillah, in this blessed month of Ramadan, I had the opportunity to share an iftar meal with the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This gathering is a moment to strengthen friendship and enhance the strategic cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE for the welfare of the people of both nations,” Prabowo wrote in the caption on his Instagram account.
Also present to accompany President Prabowo were Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha.
